This article, unquestionably the finest graphic presentation of Duke yet, appeared in the Riverside County, California Press-Enterprise on February 15, 2003. Not only is it a great looking and well written story, but it came out the day that history will remember as the day of unprecidented worldwide anti-war protest.
This pleases me greatly, as I was unable to participate. February '03 will go down in my personal history as a time of unprecidented mental collapse. On February 15, I was Sylvia Plath reincarnate, wandering the streets of Albuquerque in a bad dream. With civil war in my head, I was in no shape to protest REAL war.
Little did I know that a thousand miles away 185,000 people were smiling at me & Duke in full color prominently atop the typically-commercial automotive section of a major southern California newspaper. I had given the interview a month before from the gulf coast of Texas, and promptly forgotten it, feeling sure they wouldn't use it as I no longer lived in California, or anywhere for that matter. Wonders never cease.
Special thanks to Harrod Blank, Laurie Lucas & the graphics people at the PE. - RSM
